Cesar Augusto Martin
Cesar Martin is a Professor at the University of the Basque Country, interested in atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. Cesar is internationally recognized for his contributions to our understanding of how pathogenic variants of the low-density lipoprotein receptors (apoB100 and PCSK9 LDLR) cause diseases. Cesar is an expert in familial hypercholesterolemia. Cesar did his PhD at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), also he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Instituto Biofisika. His research work has been published in prestigious journals including PNAS, ATVB( Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology), and the JACC (The Journal of the American College of Cardiology). The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the Basque Government and the European Union fund his research. Cesar received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
